MEMORY! Festival highlighting the stakes of Film Heritage at risk : One Myamar Classics to be restored in the coming months
Across the world films are at risk. One half of all films made before 1950 and over 80% made before 1929 are lost forever. Preserving films and enabling access to this heritage is a cause that is shared by all countries.
Festival organizers are currently working with the Ministry of Information on the restoration of a Myanmar Classics. A large fund raising operation is now under way, in order to enable those restorations.
One films has already been sent to Europe to L’immagine Ritrovata, Mya Ganaing (1934) by Maung Tin Maung. Process for fundraising is underway.
